from Loralei:
"Atticus is a 1 year old Catahoula
that had developed a severe dominance aggression problem. Teresa, his owner,
was determined to find a way to work through the behavior so that he could
be an enjoyable companion both inside and outside her home. Once she understood
the significance of canine heirarchy and the fact that Atticus had become
the "alpha" , Teresa began to assume a leadership role. Atticus responded
well to training and it was fascinating to see his personality transform
week to week as we worked together. I am extremely proud of both Teresa
and Atticus and happy to see that out of hard work and devotion, the "gladiator"
has lost his desire to fight."

from "Atticus":
"Hi, my name is Atticus. I am an active 16-month-old Louisiana
Catahoula leopard dog. When I was 4 months old, I had 2 major surgeries.
Needless to say my owner spoiled me rotten, which in turn allowed me to
take control.
"At 12 months of age and 70 pounds I was very strong-willed
both mentally and physically. My owner, realizing we were both in need
of training, consulted an expert in canine behavior. You can imagine the
heart break and surprise when she was told by the so called “expert” that
I should be euthanized!
"Thank goodness my owner consulted with another expert,
Loralei Zwitt of Teacher’s Pet. I can honestly say that I was not friendly
toward Loralei our first few sessions, but she did not give up. She taught
my owner how to regain authority and control. I was a good student, eager
to please and learn. I was grateful for structure and boundaries.
"My owner and I work together on a daily basis but,
without Loralei’s expertise and guidance, would not have accomplished our
goals. Loralei is a true professional who treats clients and their owners
with kindness and respect. She is willing to take on a challenge that others
will not. Loralei uses training techniques that have practical application
no matter what the setting.
"My owner and I know we must
continue to practice and apply all of the skills Loralei has taught us.
We are forever grateful to Loralei and highly recommend that if you are
in need of a canine behavior expert, make sure you consult with her
first!"
